2010 Board Seated – Wiese Elected President

At their first members meeting of 2010 Steve Wiese of Clean Energy Associates officially accepted the position of 2010 President and Chairman of the Board for Texas Renewable Energy Industries Association (TREIA), a non-profit trade organization that strives to increase the understanding and awareness of renewable energy applications, endeavors to nurture the growth of renewable energy businesses, and seeks to enable the continued development of the renewable energy industry in Texas. TREIA advocates on behalf of laws and regulations that enable wide use of renewable energy sources and economic sustainability.  The organization celebrated its 25th anniversary last November. 

 

Wiese, who lives in Austin, is founder and Principal Consultant at Clean Energy Associates, an independent consulting firm providing businesses, utilities, regulatory and other government agencies, consumers and advocacy organizations with expert knowledge of technical and policy issues surrounding renewable energy and distributed generation.  Other newly elected officers on TREIA’s board include: Vice President, John Hoffner, CH2M Hill, Secretary, Henry Durrwachter, Luminant Energy and Treasurer, Colin Meehan, Environmental Defense Fund.  Completing the 12 member TREIA board for 2010 are: Cris Eugster, CPS Energy, Kevin Gresham, E.On Climate & Renewables, Robert King, Good Company Associates, Andrew McCalla, Meridian Solar, B.J. Stanbery, HelioVolt Corporation, Bill Tietze, Primenergy, and immediate past board president, Robert Webb, Biofuels Power Corporation.
