The ATI-Clean Energy Incubator and Austin Energy are proud to invite early stage companies to apply to audition your smart-grid/smart-home technology at the fourth annual Clean Energy Venture Summit, Sept. 29-30, 2010 in Austin, Texas.

The grand-prize winner will get the chance to validate their technology in Austin's $10.4M DOE smart-grid/smart-home demonstration project, which includes 1,000 homes and 75 businesses.

The top five contestants will receive one-on-one discussions with Austin Energy, the ATI-Clean Energy Incubator and the technology selection team for the Pecan Street Project, the nation's most ambitious city-wide clean energy laboratory.

Since its inception in 2007, companies selected to present in CEVS have gone on to raise, on average, $300,000 to $1 million in funding.

Start-up companies (through series B financing) apply to audition your breakthrough technologies in any of the following Pecan Street Project demonstration project focus areas.

  • Energy management
  • Building-integrated energy efficiency technologies
  • Smart appliances
  • Energy information systems
  • Smart resource management (electricity, water, gas and waste)
  • Distributed energy storage
  • Distributed fueling for transportation
  • Electronic vehicles
  • Software and communication technologies

Participants will present their companies and technologies to leading national investors, utility companies, technology leaders, thought leaders and commercial and governmental decision makers. A panel of leading clean-energy investors will judge the competition and provide invaluable feedback to startup contestants.

The application fee for companies is $100 and ensures your business plan will go before the CEVS selection committee for evaluation. The committee includes angel investors, venture capitalists, ATI directors and executives from Pecan Street Project and Austin Energy.

All company applicants are guaranteed one free pass to the Summit, a $200 value, whether the company is selected to compete or not. The pass guarantees a seat in Sept. 29's entrepreneurial workshop, Sept. 30's competition and both the welcome and closing receptions.
