The Texas Renewable Energy Industries Association (TREIA) is a trade and advocacy organization headquartered in Austin, Texas. TREIA members represent all facets of renewable energy industries: design, marketing, sales and installation of renewable energy products; research; education; consulting; legal services; advocacy; maintenance; manufacturing; electric power production; transmission; project development; operation; ancillary services as well as interested individuals and students.

Together we form a strong, collective voice to raise awareness and to influence the industry's direction, from incentives to licensing issues; installed megawatt goals to net metering rules. If you have a stake in any of the renewable energy industries, it makes sense to add your voice to ours.

SIX REASONS TO JOIN TREIA TODAY

Strength of a unified voice When it comes time to influence rule making and legislation, a collective voice on behalf of the industry has a more powerful impact. As an organization, TREIA has over 20 years of experience in coordinating efforts at the Texas Legislature and Texas state agencies, such as the Public Utility Commission, Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and the State Energy Conservation Office.

Through an organized process of specialized policy committees, TREIA members come to a consensus on policy and legislative recommendations and submit them to the TREIA Board of Directors. Participating in the standing policy subcommittees ensures your individual input into statewide laws and rules that directly affect the industry. The current sub-committees include biofuels, biomass electric, concentrating solar power, geothermal, solar electric & distributed generation, solar water heating and wind. From time to time, special ad hoc committees are formed to address a timely issue, such as engaging TREIA as a stakeholder in a PUC rulemaking process.

Timely, critical information As a TREIA member, you have access to the "Members Only" segment of the TREIA web site. Knowing what laws, rules and guidelines currently exist that impact your renewable energy activity is critical. This section catalogs these and provides access to existing language. Legislative and Regulatory activity is tracked here, as well as national, state, and local Requests for Proposals that offer grants, contracts and incentives to renewable energy related businesses and organizations. We strive to keep these pages vital and up to date.

Invaluable partnership prospects TREIA regularly receives inquires from potential developers, investors, distributors, suppliers and individuals. As a member, you are connected to these business referrals. The searchable Member Directory on the public pages of the web site offers a powerful marketing tool for your company profile as part of your membership. The TREIA newsletter keeps you informed of activities in the industry and other member companies' projects and opportunities. The annual Texas Renewables conference and exhibit provides a venue for the entire industry to come together for mutual education, inspiration and business prospects.

Strong network of industry leaders Membership in TREIA connects you with the heart of the renewable industry and opens the doors to invaluable business associations. The annual industry awards presented at the conference are an honored benchmark of industry accomplishments. The newsletter and web site present industry news and member company stories and press releases.

Industry media and public relations Leveraging the aggregate value of its intire membership opens more media doors to TREIA than individual companies can hope to. Besides being the go-to organization for media information, TREIA actively issues its own press releases and conducts radio and TV interviews that support the industry.

The Executive Directory is regularly called upon to speak at regional, state and national meetings and conferences. As a well-respected association, TREIA represents the renewable energy industry within the legislative/'regulatory, public relations and statewide arenas.

Supportive services TREIA is dedicated to raising awareness of its members and renewable industries as a whole. Its leadership and staff provide longstanding credibility and extensive knowledge and experience that the media, legislative and agency staffs and the general public have come to rely upon.

Your membership ensures that this critical function continues. In addition, TREIa participates in educational campaigns and provides financial support, speakers and advice to a variety of student programs such as the Winston Solar Challenge and the Summer Academy at Texas Southern University. Other ongoing services include:
